Bio

After growing up in Springfield, Pat received a degree in Government from the University of Notre Dame in 1986 and a cum laude law degree from Georgetown University Law School in 1992. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay from 1987 -1989 and as a Clerk on the Federal District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 1992 and 1993. From 1993 through 1997, he was a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice and in 1996 he served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C. In 1996, he also married Jennifer Maloney, who like him spent her youth in Springfield. Pat and Jennifer returned home in 1997 and Pat entered private practice. He and Jennifer now have three children. From 2004 – 2006, Pat was also Chief Legal Counsel for the City of Springfield during the crucial first two years of Charlie Ryan’s term as mayor. In that position, he worked tirelessly to ferret out public corruption and improve the functioning and management of our municipal government. He has served on the City Retirement Board and City Library Commission and he was elected to a two year term on the City Council in November 2007.
